Game at Northern Colorado | LIVE STATS | TWITTERHACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team will travel to Colorado to face both Air Force and Northern Colorado on Friday (8 p.m. ET start) and Sunday (2 p.m. ET start) respectively.
The Knights are coming off a 5-3 loss to their Garden State rivals—Monmouth—on Tuesday night in West Long Branch. Fairleigh Dickinson remains winless at Monmouth—falling to 0-8-1 all time. The five goals marks the third time this season and second straight game that the Knights have given up at least three goals.
Fairleigh Dickinson is 0-1-1 all-time against Air Force. The teams last met back in 2012 in Teaneck and played to a scoreless draw. The Knights lost 1-0 in their lone trip to the Air Force Academy back in 2010. Northern Colorado won the only prior meeting between the two sides, back in 2010, 4-0.
Air Force split their first two matches of the season last weekend. The Falcons got past Denver 2-0 and lost 1-0 to Northern Colorado. Brooke Rittmann scored both goals for the Falcons versus the Pioneers. Taylor Cobb and Alexandra Reveles each provided an assist.
Northern Colorado plays Drake University (Iowa) on Friday before taking on the Knights on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. The Bears have won three straight since dropping the season opener to Colorado College. During that three-game winning streak, UNC has not conceded a goal and have won each game 1-0. Sydney Schroder leads the Bears in points with four (2 goals) on the season. Rebecca Lancia is second on the team with three points—all coming from assists.
Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central)'s goal in the 89th minute against Monmouth was her 22nd of her career, which ties her for the program record. The redshirt-junior is now just four points away from tying Kelly Geraghty's program record of 52.
Esther Rochon (Saint Romuald, Quebec/College Francois-Xavier-Garneau) scored the other two goals for Fairleigh Dickinson against Monmouth. Rochon now leads the team in points with six points (2 goals, 2 assists) on the season.
The Knights are tied for the lead in the NEC in goals per game at 2.00 but rank eighth in goals allowed per game at 3.25.
Fairleigh Dickinson will look to avoid losing a third straight game on Friday versus Air Force. The Knights have not lost three straight games since losing the last four of the 2012 season.
