2015 NEC Baseball Tournament Information

NORWICH, Conn.
– The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will open the 2015 Northeast Conference Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 21 at 12 p.m. against two-time defending champion Bryant.  The NEC Tournament is being played at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.  

The Bulldogs (26-22, 17-7 NEC) are the #1 seed in the tournament having clinched the regular season championship on Friday.  The Knights (20-24, 11-13 NEC) clinched the #4 seed in the tournament with last weekend's series victory against Mount St. Mary's.

The #2 Wagner Seahawks will play the #3 Sacred Heart Pioneers in Thursday's second game.

The tournament is a double-elimination event that will be played over three or four days.

This is FDU's first NEC Tournament appearance since the 2012 season.


Tournament Overview
The 2015 Northeast Conference Baseball Championship will be held from May 21-24 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT.

The championship will consist of a four-team, double-elimination tournament comprised of six or seven games over three days.  The top four teams based on regular season conference winning percentage qualify for the NEC Tournament.

The NEC champion will go on to compete at NCAA regionals.

About Dodd Stadium/Connecticut Tigers
The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and are the newest franchise in the NY-Penn League. The 2010 season marked the inaugural season for the Tigers at Dodd Stadium, as the Tigers relocated from Oneonta, New York after 44 seasons.

Dodd Stadium offers a mix of premium sky box suites, luxury seats, a private picnic area, bleacher seating, grass berm seating, and also features a full bar and restaurant located behind home plate. Baseball fans travel near and far to catch a game and cheer on Connecticut's newest team.

Some notable alumni that have traveled through the organization over the years are Bernie Williams, Andy Pettite, Don Mattingly, Curtis Granderson, and Hall of Fame Quarterback John Elway!

The 6,270 seat ballpark opened in 1995.


Ticket Information
Tickets to the 2014 NEC Baseball Championships may be purchased at Dodd Stadium on the day of the event.

Ticket prices will be on a "per day" basis. Ticket prices will cost $10 for General Admission and $5 for Seniors and children 12 years of age and under. NEC students with a valid ID will be admitted free.
