Box Score FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team fell to Sacred Heart by a score of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Campus Field in Fairfield. The Pioneers (2-12-1, 1-6-0 NEC) scored a first half goal and answered with the game-winner just minutes after the Knights tied the match in the second half.
Sacred Heart jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Shaquille Saunchez in the 33
rd minute and held a 1-0 advantage at the half.

Jorge de la Bandera (Monmouth Junction N.J./South Brunswick) sent a cross into the 18-yard box that was headed in by freshman
Ahu Obhakhan (Drogheda, Ireland/St. Joseph CBS) for the tying goal. The score was the first of the season for Obhakhan and the assist was the first of the year for de la Bandera.
Sacred Heart's Matt Manzo would find the net in the 58
th minute to put the Pioneers back in front, 2-1. The Pioneer defense would protect to lead over the final 32 minutes of play.
The Pioneers held a 25-13 advantage in shots and a 12-6 advantage in shots on goal. Sophomore
Matthew Weigner (Warrington, Pa/Central Bucks South) posted 10 saves in the match. Sacred Heart also earned 11 corner kick compared to two for the Knights.
Junior
Jordon Ellison (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) had two shots on goal for the Knights.
FDU ends the season with an overall record of 2-12-3 and a 0-5-2 mark in NEC play.
