Men's Soccer

Knights and Terriers Draw, 1-1

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team played to a draw with conference opponent St. Francis Brooklyn, 1-1 on Friday night at University Stadium.  The Terriers (3-1-2) scored in the first half but the Knights (0-4-1) came back to tie it up in the second half. Neither team was able to score in either overtime period.
 
St. Francis BK outshot FDU 14-0 in the first half. Terriers' senior midfielder Vincent Bezecourt scored the lone goal for the period on a shot assisted by sophomore midfielder Federico Curbelo at the 37:54 mark. The goal was the senior's seventh goal of the season and put the Terriers up one.
 
In the second half, St. Francis BK registered 11 shots to FDU's three. In the 58th minute Junior Christian Dietrich (Berlin, Germany/Flatow-Oberschule) scored the lone goal for the Knights to tie the match up. The goal was unassisted and marked the third goal on the year for the junior.
 
Freshman Javen Palmer (London, England/Sedgehill) registered a shot in the first overtime period but Binks made the save for the Terriers.
 
In the second overtime, the Knights nearly ended the game when Terriers' goalie Jack Binks came out of the goal past the 18. Dietrich ripped a shot towards goal in the 108th minute but the shot was just wide to the left. 

Sophomore Matthew Weigner (Warrington, Pa/Central Bucks South) had a solid day in goal, making six saves.

The Knights travel to face Bryant on Sunday, November 1 at 1 p.m.
