TWITTERHACKENSACK, N.J. - The first place Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team will conclude the 2015 home schedule on Friday night at University Stadium when the Bulldogs of Bryant come to Teaneck. The Knights are looking for their eighth straight win and to send the 11 seniors, who will be honored prior to the game, off winners in their final regular season game at University Stadium.
The women's soccer team will also be collecting donations to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Fairleigh Dickinson (11-5, 5-0 NEC) is coming off wins at LIU Brooklyn and versus Wagner this past weekend. The Knights are off to their best NEC start in program history.
Jessi Reinhardt (Friedberg, Germany/Burggymansium) was named NEC Player of and Rookie of the Week after tallying six points (2g, 2a) in the two games.
Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) set a new program record for points in a season with her 26th point on Sunday versus the Seahawks. Tice scored twice on the afternoon to break the previous record of 25 held by teammate
Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central) that she set last season.
Bryant (4-9-2, 3-1-1 NEC) comes into the game off a double-overtime 0-0 draw against Mount St. Mary's on Friday, October 16. The Bulldogs' three NEC wins have against Sacred Heart (1-0), Wagner (2-1) and at Robert Morris (1-0, OT). Nine different players have scored for Bryant this season. The lone player with more than two points is forward Scout Benson who has three (1g, 1a).
The Knights and Bulldogs have met six times on the pitch with Bryant holding a 3-2-1 record all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Knights have won the last two meetings; 3-0 in 2013 and 1-0 last season.
A Knights player leads the NEC in assists per game, total assists, goals, points, game-winning goals, goals per game, points per game, shots per game, shots on goal per game and shutouts.
Tice is 20th in all of Division I in points her 26. Hoekstra is 55th nationally with 22.
Felicia Burr (Bellingham, Mass./Blackstone-Millville) recorded her sixth shutout of the year against LIU Brooklyn last week and now has 11 for her career. Her six are two behind Sage DoVale's record of eight in a single season and her 11 career clean sheets are three behind DoVale's record of 14.
