W. Soccer Heads to Columbia on Tuesday Night

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (4-1-0) is back on the road on Tuesday evening with a local contest at Columbia (0-1-1) in Manhattan, N.Y. Kickoff from Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
The Knights set several program records during their historic 8-0 defeat of Saint Peter's on Friday, Sept. 5. The team broke single-game records for most goals scored (8), most assists (9) and most points (25). Seven different players netted goals, five tallied their first goals of the season, and three scored for the first time in their collegiate careers. For her performance in the match, redshirt sophomore Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central ) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week. FDU has now opened up the season with three straight weekly NEC awards: goalkeeper Felicia Burr (Bellingham, Mass./Blackstone-Millville ) – Week 1 Defensive Player of the Week; forward Connie Lewis (Outer Cove, Newfoundland/Gonzaga ) – Week 2 Player of the Week.

What You Need To Know: Knights fans may know the name of new Columbia head coach Tracy Bartholomew from her time as head coach of LIU Brooklyn from 2000 up until last season. Bartholomew led the Blackbirds to their seventh Northeast Conference tournament final in nine years last season by defeating FDU in double overtime thanks to a golden goal
from Shino Kunisawa in the 107th minute. This season, the Lions are outshooting their opponents 33-19 despite being winless. Senior forward Courtney Garrity has scored Columbia's lone goal.
