W. Soccer Hosts Saint Peter's in 2014 Home Opener

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team returns to University Stadium for its 2014 home opener on Friday, Sept. 5 to take on Saint Peter's in the first contest of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team. The match kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on NEC Front Row. 
 
Last Time Out
The Knights are coming off two victories last weekend over Rider and Delaware State. Sophomore Connie Lewis (Outer Cove, Newfoundland/Gonzaga ) tallied three goals and an assist en route to her first career Northeast Conference Player of the Week award, while junior Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill ) added a goal in each contest, and junior co-captain Amanda Goulet (Quebec City, Quebec/Shattuck-St. Mary's ) gave her team a victory with a 94th-minute golden goal against Rider. Goulet assisted on both Lewis goals against Delaware State to give her three on the season and eight for her career, moving her into a tie for fifth-most in program history alongside current teammate Kasey Schiavoni (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy).

What You Need To Know: FDU will be the third straight NEC opponent for the Peacocks on the road after dropping contests at Wagner and at Sacred Heart. Saint Peter's has yet to find the back of the net this season and have conceded 10 goals through three games. FDU is a perfect 3-0 at University Stadium against the Peacocks all time. Saint Peter's returns three of its top four scorers from last season.

The Knights are back on the road for a rare Tuesday evening contest on Sept. 9 at Columbia. Kickoff in Manhattan is slated for 5 p.m.
