Live StatsTEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (13-26, 4-12 NEC) will conclude the home portion of its 2014 schedule when it hosts first-place Bryant (33-12, 13-3 NEC) for a four-game Northeast Conference set starting on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The two sides will play a pair of seven-inning contests on Saturday starting at 1 p.m., before playing Sunday's series finale at 1 p.m. Saturday is Alumni Day and all former Knights' are invited to attend pregame festivities beginning at 12 p.m.
Last Time OutFDU dropped three of four at LIU Brooklyn last weekend after holding on for an 8-7 victory in the series opener. The Knights held a one-run lead in the final inning of game two, but the Blackbirds rallied for two runs to pull out the 4-3 victory. LIU then posted a pair of shutouts in the final two contests. Ryan MacDonald (Bethpage, N.Y./Island Trees) earned his first career victory on the bump in game one after limiting LIU to two earned runs over 5.0 innings. Junior

They hold a four-game lead in the loss column but did drop two games last weekend to second-place Sacred Heart. Bryant is one of the top offense teams in the league, hitting .304 and averaging just under 7.0 runs per game. Seven players who receive substantial playing time are batting over .300, with freshman Cole Fabio leading the way with a .362 clip. Senior Tom Gavitt paces the Bulldogs with five home runs and four triples while a trio of Bulldogs has 33 RBI. On the bump, Bryant has pitched to a 3.35 ERA while fanning 319 in 378.1 innings. The staff has also only yielded 322 hits and 142 walks.
