Live VideoHACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (3-3) makes its way to South Bend, Ind. for a clash with Atlantic Coast Conference foe Notre Dame (7-1)Â on Saturday evening, Dec. 6. Tipoff from the Joyce Center is slated for 8 p.m. with the game being broadcast nationally on ESPN3.
Last Time OutThe Knights defeated Princeton, 89-85, in a thrilling contest that was played at breakneck speed throughout. The win came in the second-ever meeting between the two schools and was helped by a career-high 29 points from sophomore co-captain
Matt MacDonald, who's eight rebounds also tied a career high. The guard was very efficient with 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. The Tigers led for 70% of the contest until 7:57 left to go when senior standout
Mustafaa Jones hit a contested three-pointer and MacDonald sank two freebies to take a lead the team would never relinquish. Over the following three minutes, the Knights jumped out to an 11 point lead but Princeton would claw their way back to within two late following a crazy banked three-pointer from sophomore Khyan Rayner after getting fouled. Rayner intentionally missed his freebie but Jones was able to corral the rebound to preserve the win.
