W. Soccer Looks to Clinch NEC Regular Season Title on Sunday

Live Stats | Live Video

TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (12-4-1, 5-1-1 NEC) has a chance to clinch its first Northeast Conference regular season title since 2004 at home on Senior Day against reigning NEC champ Saint Francis U (3-10-5, 3-1-3 NEC). Kickoff from University Stadium is slated for 12 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. NEC Front Row will carry live video coverage.

Last Time Out
FDU played a total of 210 minutes last weekend with two overtime contests against Sacred Heart and Wagner. Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central ) struck at the end of the first period of overtime against the Pioneers to snatch all three points but the Knights were held on the road against the Seahawks, 1-1, two days later. Of the three goals that FDU scored last weekend, Carly Tice (Highland Falls, N.Y./James I. O'Neill ) scored two and assisted on the third. This past Monday, Tice was announced as FDU's sixth different player to win a weekly conference award this season when she was named the NEC Co-Player of the Week.

Saint Francis
2014 Season: 3-10-5 (3-1-3 NEC)
When: Sunday, Nov. 2 – 12 p.m.
Where: Teaneck, N.J. (University Stadium)
Series History: SFU holds an 8-4-2 since 2000
Last Meeting: Nov. 3, 2013 – SFU 4 FDU 1 in Loretto, Pa.
What You Need To Know: Its three points and a title for the Knights as they host the Red Flash for the first time since 2012. A win clinches the conference regular season title but a draw would give Wagner a chance at stealing it. The conference winner hosts the NEC Tournament that begins next Friday. Saint Francis started its conference schedule off with two very valuable wins over the current second and third place teams, Wagner and Central Connecticut State. A draw would most likely clinch a tournament berth but a loss may eliminate them if Sacred Heart can defeat Wagner at home on Sunday. The Red Flash have three players with nine points – Senior Mackenzie Walter and freshmen Gabi Morales and Allison LaDuke.

Up Next
The Knights have already clinched a NEC Tournament berth and will be playing in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7 at either 11:00 a.m. or 2 p.m. Location is still up for grabs, but there will be live video broadcasts on NEC Front Row all weekend long.
