M. Soccer's Tournament Hopes End in 1-0 Loss at St. Francis Brooklyn

Box Score

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team saw its Northeast Conference Tournament hopes come to an end on Friday night in a 1-0 loss against St. Francis Brooklyn at Brooklyn Bridge Park. With the victory, the Terriers clinch a spot in the conference tournament and improve to 8-5-4 (3-1-2 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 3-11-2 (1-3-1 NEC) overall.

The difference in the match came in the 61st minute when the home team scored the only goal. Only five minutes before, FDU scored what appeared to be a legitimate goal, but the linesman waved it offsides.

"I'm sad for the guys; they played so hard and played very well," Head Coach Seth Roland said. "This game was not unlike the previous two NEC games (CCSU, LIU) in that we outplayed our opponent but could not manage to win. Although it is disappointing and frustrating, I'm proud of the way we have competed in those three games."

More details will follow with a box score…

FDU returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 2 with a 3 p.m. conference match against second-place Bryant at University Stadium.
