Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's soccer team suffered a hard-fought loss to LIU Brooklyn on Sunday, 1-0, in Northeast Conference action at LIU Field. With the victory, the Blackbirds pick up three points in the conference standings and improve to 4-10-0 (3-2-0 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 3-10-2 (1-2-1 NEC) overall.
FDU dominated throughout the match but could not find the back of the net. The Knights outshot LIU, 17-9, and held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks, including a 5-1 edge in the second half. FDU had seven shots on goal, which resulted in seven saves from Blackbirds' goalkeeper Logan Keys. Sophomore

Jordan Saling (Haledon N.J. /Paramus Cathloic) saw both of his shot attempts go on goal.
The offense came out strong in the beginning of the first half, taking seven shots over the first 20 minutes, but neither side could score over the first 45 minutes.
The difference in the contest came in the 65th minute when LIU's Naeem Charles beat Knights' goalkeeper
Matthew Weigner (Warrington, Pa/Central Bucks South) from 10 yards out in the right corner of the box for the lone goal of the match. Weigner finished with two saves, with two coming in each half.
FDU now faces a must-win situation on Halloween night when it takes on St. Francis Brooklyn, as the defending NEC champions entered Sunday in third place in the standings. Kickoff in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.
