Twitter Updates on @FDUWS TEANECK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team (7-3-0) kicks off Northeast Conference play this weekend, first with a trip down to Emmitsburg to battle Mount St. Mary's (1-10-0) on Oct. 3 before hosting LIU Brooklyn (2-9-0) on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from Waldron Family Stadium on Friday is slated for 7 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row.

Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central ) was named NEC Player of the Week for the second time this season for her hat trick in regulation at Hartford and senior
Kasey Schiavoni (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) was named NEC Defender of the Week for her game-winning assist at Hartford and her contributions to the victory over NJIT. The goals and assists for Hoekstra and Schiavoni, respectively, keep them moving up the program's all-time ranks.
Mount St. Mary's2014 Season: 1-10-0 (0-0 NEC)
When: Friday, Oct. 3 – 7 p.m.
Where: Emmitsburg, Md. (Waldron Family Stadium)
Series History: FDU holds an 8-5-1 record since 2000
Last Meeting: Oct. 4, 2013 – FDU 3 MSM 2 in Newark, N.J.
What You Need To Know: The Mount won their first contest of the season on Sept. 19 against Howard at home but lost to Navy, 3-0, two days later. The team has since enjoyed a long break as they wait for Friday night. Junior Emma Blair paces the team with three goals and freshman Kristen Morawski is the lone Mountaineer to tally an assist. Two juniors split time in goal, Rachel Bourne and Vicky Cocozza, with the former starting nine matches. With a win this week in the first game of conference play, FDU would already equal last year's wins total. The Knights have a great chance to accomplish this feat against a team that failed to score its first goal until the seventh match of the season.
LIU Brooklyn2014 Season: 2-9-0 (0-0 NEC)
When: Sunday, Oct. 5 – 1 p.m.
Where: Teaneck, N.J. (University Stadium)
Series History: LIU holds a 12-4 record since 2000
Last Meeting: Oct. 11, 2013 – FDU 2 LIU 0 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
What You Need To Know: The Blackbirds are in their first year without former head coach Tracey Bartholomew, who the Knights faced at new club Columbia in September, and have struggled against tough nonconference opponents. LIU dropped its first nine contests of the season before rebounding this past weekend at Saint Peter's and at home against NJIT. Before exploding for four goals against the Peacocks, the Blackbirds had registered just two goals in those opening nine matches. Of the seven goals scored this season, Jenn Peters and Madison Gomez are tied with two apiece. Jessica Montrose has played all 990 minutes between the pipes for LIU and has made 57 saves. FDU will be looking for revenge against the team that knocked them out of last year's NEC Tournament semi-finals in overtime.
Up NextNortheast Conference play continues with two contests against Central Connecticut State and Robert Morris next weekend. First up are the Blue Devils on Friday, Oct. 10 in New Britain, Conn. with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Two days later, FDU returns home to host the Colonials with a noon start at University Stadium.
