W. Fencing at Vassar Invitational on Sunday

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's fencing team heads to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Sunday to take part in the Vassar Invitational. The tournament takes place at Walker Fieldhouse on the Vassar College campus, where the Knights will compete against the hosts, as well as Haverford, Queens, Sacred Heart, Hunter, Cornell, Stevens and Yeshiva. 

Senior Hanna Heldenmuth (Miami, Fla./Keystone National) led FDU at the Temple Invitational two weeks ago, finishing ninth in the sabre. Junior Alix Lerch (Puebla, Puebla, Mexico/Instituto Oriente) was the top finisher in foil with a 23rd-place finish, while Tanya Rivera (Union City, N.J./Union City) was the high finisher in epee. 

The Knights next compete in their lone home event of the season, the FDU Invitational, Friday, Nov. 22 at Stratis Arena.
