Obituary
YARDLEY, Pa. -- Former men's soccer head coach George Glasgow, who was an inaugural member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University's Division I Hall of Fame (Class of 1999), passed away Monday, Oct. 28, at the age of 82.
Glasgow graduated from FDU in 1953 and played both soccer and basketball for the Knights as an undergraduate, while becoming the first 1,000-point scorer in the men's basketball program.
He was the head coach for his alma mater from 1956-1969 and the again from 1974-1976. Glasgow guided FDU to eight postseason tournaments: one NAIA Tournament appearance in 1958, followed by seven NCAA Tournament berths.
Glasgow retired from a career in teaching at Harrison High School after working 35 years as a teacher, coach and guidance counselor. He loved coaching, spending time with his family and vacationing at the Jersey Shore and Cape Cod, Mass.
Glasgow's beloved wife of 49 years, Lucille, passed away in 2010. He is survived by his four daughters: Lynn Glasgow and her husband Chris McCullough and their children Spencer, Georgia and Grace; Laura Yurkovic and her children Allicia, Kate and TJ; Karen Parnham and her husband Stephen and their children Riley, Hannah and Kevin; Lois Glasgow and her children Laine and Nate DiMartinis: by his brothers James and John Glasgow and their families.
