HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's basketball team will look to get back on track as it takes on Quinnipiac on Saturday, Jan. 26. Tipoff at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. is slated for noon as part of a men's and women's doubleheader. The game will be shown live on Fox College Sports Atlantic, MSG Network and NEC Front Row.

The FDU coaching staff will be supporting Coaches Versus Cancer on Saturday afternoon by wearing sneakers on the sideline in order to raise awareness about the fight against cancer, share the importance of nutrition and physical activity and to promote the American Cancer Society.

The Knights have struggled to produce wins recently and fell to 7-13 on the year after a 73-54 loss at Monmouth on Thursday. FDU is 2-5 in Northeast Conference action and has lost four consecutive games.

Senior Melquan Bolding (Mt. Vernon, N.Y./Bishop Stepinac) has been the Knights' catalyst this season, with 15.2 point per game, while averaging  35.3 minutes on the court per game. His senior counterparts, Kinu Rochford (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) and Lonnie Robinson (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach), have added 14.9 and 11.9 points per contest, respectively. Rochford paces the Knights with 9.4 rebounds per game and has recorded eight double-doubles.

Collectively, the Knights are averaging 65.7 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 77.7 points. They are leading the Northeast Conference with a three-point shooting percentage of 38.5 and are converting 44.6 percent of shots from the field. The Knights have pulled down 29.7 rebounds per game, seven fewer than their opponents thus far.

The Bobcats of Quinnipiac are 7-12 on the year, with a 3-4 mark in conference play. They most recently defeated Central Connecticut State, 85-78.

As a team, the Bobcats average 70.6 points per game, while allowing opponents to put up 72.9 points. They shoot 42.5 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Bobcats hold opponents to 43.4 percent from the floor, second best in the NEC, and lead the league in all rebounding categories.

Quinnipiac pulls down 41.6 boards per game, 8.7 rebounds more than their opponents' in-game average. The Bobcats' rebounding margin leads the conference and ranks 11th among the NCAA Division I leaders.

Junior Ike Azotam leads the team with 14.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He has recorded eight double-doubles in 19 games. A core group of four others add an average of nine points each for the Bobcats.

The Knights and Bobcats have met 30 times since 1954, with FDU holding a 16-14 advantage. The Knights last defeated Quinnipiac in January of 2009 and have lost six straight bouts with the Bobcats.

Following the matchup in Hamden, Conn., the Knights will host Bryant on Thursday, Jan. 31 in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN3 and Fox College Sports.
