The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will look to snap its three-game losing streak late Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Loudonville, NY to take on the Saints of Siena.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Siena Field.

Last Time Out: FDU (15-17-1) dropped all three games in its series with Radford this past weekend in Radford, VA.  The Knights lost the opener, 1-0, before being outscored 24-5 over the final two games.

Senior co-captain Ryan Kresky (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) continued his torrid play at the plate, hitting .444 (4-for-9) in the series with a double, run scored, RBI and two walks, while extending his hitting streak to 10 games.  He currently leads the NEC in batting average (.407), which is good enough for the 21st highest average in the nation.  Kresky also has the fourth-highest on-base percentage in the country (.537).  Over his last 10 games, the shortstop is hitting .576 (19-for-33) with seven runs scored, three doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs, six walks, three stolen bases and a sacrifice fly, while only striking out twice.  He is also slugging .848 and has been on base at a clip of .634

Freshman Shane Siebler (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) hit .429 (3-for-7) over the weekend with a double, RBI, run scored, sacrifice bunt and a walk.

Junior Craig Warner (Coral Springs, Fla./Stoneman Douglas) pitched his fourth quality start of the season in the first game of the series.  The righty went 6.0 innings, allowing only one earned run on three hits, while striking out two and not issuing a walk.

Scouting Siena: The Saints (11-24), who were picked to finish sixth in the nine-team MAAC, are currently in a tie for sixth place with Saint Peter's, a team the Knights defeated earlier this season.  Siena had a brutal start to its season, losing its first six, 14 of its first 15 and 19 of its first 21 before winning six of seven.  The Saints won the first two games of their three-game series at Marist last weekend before falling in extra innings in the series finale.  Siena plays a doubleheader on Tuesday at Cornell before hosting FDU.

The Saints are led on offense by sophomore outfielder John Rooney.  He is their only player hitting over .300 (.314), leads the team in hits (37-for-118), triples (2), RBIs (18), on-base percentage (.383) and stolen bases (8-for-8).  As a team, Siena is hitting only .245 (260-for-1060) and has scored only 127 runs (3.6 runs per game).  The Saints have struck out 208 times, drawn 11 walks and have committed 61 errors (.950 fielding percentage) on defense.  Opponents are hitting .323 (356-for-1103) off Siena pitching and have scored 241 runs (6.9 runs per game), drawn 154 walks and struck out 183 times as the pitching staff has recorded a team ERA of 6.81.

All-Time Series: Siena leads the all-time series 4-1.  The Saints swept a three-game series against the Knights last season on the campus of LIU Brooklyn before the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex was finished.  The lone FDU win came during the second game of a doubleheader with the Saints to open the 1985 season as the Knights won the nightcap 8-2.

Next Up: FDU will return to Northeast Conference action with a critical four-game series at home against Central Connecticut State this weekend.  The Knights currently sit second in the playoff standings, one spot ahead of the Blue Devils, who are in a tie for third with Wagner.  Friday's series opener will start at 3:00 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex in Teaneck, NJ.  Saturday's doubleheader will feature two seven-inning contests with the opener starting at 1:00 p.m., while the series finale will take place on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
