W. Soccer to Host Wagner, Play at Bryant This Weekend

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team will face Wagner and Bryant this weekend, as Northeast Conference action continues.  The Knights will host Wagner on Friday, Oct. 12 with a 4 p.m. kickoff at University Stadium before traveling to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant at noon on Sunday, Oct. 14.

FDU most recently dropped a 3-1 decision to Monmouth.  Freshman Katey Arathoon (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's ) scored her first collegiate goal, assisted by classmate Rachel Hoekstra (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Central ) for the Knights' only points of the game.  Hoekstra's assist brings her to point total to 18 on the year, just one shy of the FDU all-time record for points in a single-season. 

WAGNER

The Seahawks of Wagner are 4-9 on the year with a 1-3 mark in NEC play.  They defeated Sacred Heart, 1-0, for their only conference win and most recently fell to Quinnipiac, 4-1. 

Through 13 games, Wagner has been outscored, 29-16, and outshot, 232-156.  The Seahawks average 12.0 shots per game, while giving up 17.8 shots.  Senior Julie Vigliotti leads the team with six goals, while junior Jackie Nicholas has added five goals and four assists. 

Lisa Capelli has spent the majority of the time in the net for Wagner, while Maureen Vetter has played five games recently.  Capelli has allowed 2.10 goals to be scored per game, while maintaining a .698 save percentage.  Vetter has allowed 2.50 goals per game with a .750 save percentage. 

HISTORY WITH THE SEAHAWKS

The Knights are 6-6 all time against Wagner, dating back to 2000.  The all-time record includes a 5-0 loss on Staten Island last season. 

BRYANT

The Bulldogs of Bryant are 8-7 this season with a 3-3 record in conference.  They most recently defeated Quinnipiac, 2-1, and will face Sacred Heart on Friday. 

Bryant has outscored opponents, 22-21 through 15 games and has outshot their foes, 207-191 with an average of 13.8 shots per game.  Their backline has allowed opponents to take 12.7 shots per contest.

Shana Follette leads the Bulldogs with five goals on the year, while Ari Goldberg has added four and Alex Bengston has put away three.  Rachel Ivanicki has dished out four assists with six others adding at least one goal to the Bulldogs' total.

Lauren Viverito leads the Bulldog defense with a 1.41 goals allowed average and a .753 save percentage. 

HISTORY WITH THE BULLDOGS

The Knights are 0-2-1 against Bryant since the Bulldogs joined the NEC in 2009.  Last season, FDU fell 3-0 at University Stadium.
