The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team will look to end its 12-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon when they return to Brooklyn, NY to take on St. Francis NY in Northeast Conference action.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Pope Physical Education Center.

Despite losing by 18 points at Long Island Brooklyn this past Thursday, the Knights (1-14, 0-5 NEC) gave one of their better efforts of the season in the 82-64 loss in Brooklyn, NY.  FDU trailed by only six points with a little over eight minutes to go in the contest before fouls started to hamper the squad.  The Blackbirds then went on a 14-4 run to take control of the game and cruise to the victory.

The biggest difference in the game was at the free throw line where LIU went to the charity stripe 36 times (making 27), while FDU went only 5-for-12 from the line.  In the second half alone, the Blackbirds went 17-of-21.  The Knights missed all three of their free throw attempts in the second half.  FDU was also whistled for a season-high 27 fouls, while LIU was only charged with 12.  The Blackbirds also went 9-of-18 from three-point range, and the Knights only made 5-of-14 from behind the arc.

Junior Lonnie Robinson (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach) had a breakout game for the Knights as he poured in a career-high 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor.  He also went 5-of-9 from three-point range and picked up his first career double-double as he pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds.  Graduate student George Goode (Raytown, MO/Raytown South) continued his recent tear as he added 17 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.  Goode is averaging 16.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in NEC play.

Junior Melquan Bolding (Mt. Vernon, N.Y./Bishop Stepinac) added 14 points for the Knights.

Scouting St. Francis NY: The Terriers (7-9, 4-1 NEC), who were picked to finish 11th in the NEC preseason coaches' poll, come into Saturday's contest on a three-game winning streak and victories in four of their last five games after handling Monmouth at home this past Thursday, 81-64.  They started out the season playing their first nine games on the road to go 3-6 after starting out 0-4 including a 75-71 road loss in overtime at Seton Hall to start the season.  SFNY split its first two conference games in December with a road win at Mount St. Mary's (64-54) before being drilled at Wagner (90-50).  The Terriers and Knights have played four common opponents this season (Lafayette, NJIT, Mount St. Mary's and Wagner).  Both squads lost at Lafayette, but SFNY won at NJIT (79-60) where the Knights fell to the Highlanders at their place, 66-53.  FDU also lost at home to both Wagner (88-64) and Mount St. Mary's (66-45).

Senior guard Stefan Perunicic leads the Terriers in scoring at 13.3 ppg and is shooting 40.7 percent (44-of-108) from behind the arc.  In NEC play, he is averaging 15.6 ppg and is shooting a lofty 48.6 percent (18-of-37) from downtown.  Sophomore guard Ben Mockford is the team's second-leading scorer at 12.1 ppg and is shooting 38.0 percent (49-of-126) from three-point range.  Junior forward Akeem Johnson, who did not play against Monmouth, is averaging 10.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and is shooting 56.7 percent (51-of-90) from the field.  Freshman forward Jalen Cannon leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 rpg and is shooting 56.8 percent (46-of-81) from the floor.

All-Time Series: This will be the 85th meeting between the two NYC area schools which dates back to the 1954-55 season.  Both teams have played each other at least once since the 1965-66 season.  The Knights hold a 50-34 advantage in the series but have lost seven of eight in the series.  However, FDU holds a 23-21 edge in games play at SFNY.  In their only meeting last season, the Terriers knocked off the Knights in Hackensack, 86-77.  The year before in Brooklyn, FDU won 56-55 to snap a six-game losing streak to the Terriers.
