The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team will look to end its 11-game losing streak on Thursday evening when they travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on first-place LIU Brooklyn in Northeast Conference action.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center.

The Knights (1-13, 0-4) hosted Mount St. Mary's last Saturday at Stratis Arena and were defeated 66-45 in the squad's fourth NEC contest of the season.  The Mount led from the opening tip and was never threatened by FDU.  The Knights' 45 points and 29.3 percent field goal percentage established season lows.  On a positive note, FDU did only turn the ball over a season-low 11 times and assisted on 10 of its 17 made field goals.

Graduate student George Goode (Raytown, MO/Raytown South) had his second-straight strong performance for the Knights as he led the way with a game-high 18 points and four rebounds.  Senior Briahn Smith (Detroit, MI/Madison) added a season-high 12 points and tied a career best with five made field goals.  Junior Kinu Rochford (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds with half coming on the offensive glass.

The 0-4 start in NEC play is the first time in program history FDU has started winless in its first four conference games.

Scouting LIU Brooklyn: The Blackbirds (10-6, 4-0 NEC), who were picked to repeat as champions of the NEC, come into Thursday's contest on a five-game winning streak.  LIU started off the season 0-3 before winning five of its next six games including victories over Wagner and Mount St. Mary's.  The Blackbirds and Knights have played six common opponents so far this season (Vermont, Wagner, Mount St. Mary's, Lafayette, Columbia and NJIT).  LIU defeated every team but Columbia, while FDU fell to all six teams.

Junior forward Julian Boyd leads the Blackbirds in both scoring (16.2 ppg) and rebounding (9.5 rpg).  He is also shooting 50.9 percent (85-of-167) from the field.  Junior forward Jamal Olasewere is right behind his classmate as he his second on the LIU squad in both scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg).  He leads the team in field goal percentage (54.2 percent; 84-of-155), blocks (18) and steals (24).  Junior guard C.J. Garner is the third and final Blackbird averaging double-figures in points (10.6 ppg).  Senior guard Michael Culpo just misses double-figures in scoring as he is averaging 9.7 ppg, while shooting 40.2 percent (35-of-87) from three-point range.  Sophomore guard Jason Brickman averages 8.0 ppg, is shooting 39.6 percent (21-of-53) from behind the arc and has dished out 103 assists (6.4 apg).

All-Time Series: This will be the 91st meeting between the two NYC area schools which dates back to the 1950-51 season.  Both teams have played each other at least once since the 19-57-58 season.  The series is deadlocked at 45-45.  LIU holds a slim 23-22 advantage in games played on its home floor.  The Blackbirds have won seven consecutive games in the series as the Knights last won a thriller during the teams two first meetings during the 2007-07 season, 74-73.  FDU had won 10 straight in the series and 19 of 21 games against LIU dating back to the 1997-98 season prior to the current seven-game losing streak to the Blackbirds.
