The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team will be playing its final four games of the 2011 season this weekend when whey they host Bryant in a four-game NEC series starting on Friday, May 13, at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex in Teaneck at 3:00 p.m. Games two and three will take place on Saturday and will be seven innings in length with game one starting at 1:00 p.m. The finale, which will be Senior Day for the nine graduating seniors, will take place on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The Knights (12-34, 9-19 NEC) had its first successful weekend in NEC play last weekend when they won the first three games at Wagner in their four-game set. After defeating Monmouth on May 1st and coupled with the three consecutive wins at Wagner, FDU won four games in a row for the first time all season before dropping the finale. On Wednesday, the Knights dropped a mid-week home game to Hartford, 7-0.
In its last 12 NEC games, FDU is 6-6. Currently, the Knights sit in eighth place and if they take care of business, will have a chance to finish in seventh place.
Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs come into the weekend series with an overall record of 28-23 (15-12 NEC) and are in fourth place in the standings in the NEC. However, Bryant is not eligible to participate in the conference tournament because they are not finished with the transformation to Division I. The Bulldogs won three out of four last weekend at home over Quinnipiac. Last season, Bryant won all four games against FDU in Smithfield, RI over the last weekend of April.
