The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team will look to end its season-high eight-game losing streak on Monday, Jan. 2 when they make the short trip over the George Washington Bridge to take on the Lions of Columbia. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Levien Gymnasium in Manhattan, NY.
The Knights returned to the road after playing one game at home as they made the short trip to Newark but fell to NJIT, 66-53. The Knights, who led late in the first half, were down two at the break, 30-28. However, the Highlanders started the second half on a 17-4 run to take a 47-32 lead with 11:19 remaining in the contest. FDU was never able to get closer than 12 the rest of the way.

Lonnie Robinson (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach) came off the bench to lead the Knights with 12 points. Fellow classmate
Lonnie Hayes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Harmony Prep) added 10 points.
The Knights currently sport four players averaging double-figures, the most of any team in the NEC. Junior guard
Melquan Bolding (Mt. Vernon, N.Y./Bishop Stepinac) leads the way with 14.1 ppg, followed by Hayes with 13.0 ppg. Graduate student forward
George Goode (Raytown, MO/Raytown South) is next with 11.3 ppg. Junior forward
Kinu Rochford (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) rounds out the double-digit contingent with 10.2 ppg.
Scouting Columbia: The Lions (8-5), who were picked to finish seventh in the eight-team Ivy Leage is off to a surprising start this season. After starting out the season 0-4, Columbia reeled off seven-straight victories before falling at Marist last Wednesday, 79-59, which was its first game in 18 days. This past Friday, the Lions returned to their winning ways with a 77-67 come-from-behind home victory over Lafayette. Columbia and FDU have played two common opponents this season, both losing at Stony Brook, while the Knights lost at Lafayette, 85-74, back on Nov. 22. During their win streak, the Lions defeated NEC favorite Long Island, 63-53, on Dec. 10. Columbia is 4-2 at home this season.
Junior guard Brian Barbour leads the Lions in scoring at 14.7 ppg. He is also shooting 87.5 percent (49-of-56) from the free throw line and leads the team with 43 assists. Sophomore guard Meiko Lyles is one of two players averaging 8.8 ppg and is shooting a dangerous 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from three-point range. Junior center Mark Cisco is also averaging 8.8 ppg and is also the team's second leading rebounder at 6.5 rpg. He is also shooting 56.3 percent (45-of-80) from the field. Junior forward John Daniels leads the team in rebounding at 6.7 rpg.
All-Time Series: This will be the first meeting between the two New York City metropolitan schools which are located less than 10 miles away from each other.
