W. Soccer to Conclude Season with Monmouth at Home

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team will take on in-state rival, Monmouth University, in the final game of the 2011 season. 

The Knights will honor eight seniors prior to the noon kickoff.  Stephanie Austin (Canonsburg, PA/Canon McMillan), Lisa-Marie Curti (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux), Amy Flanagan (Freehold, NJ/Freehold), Maureen O'Connell, Alexis Pardo (Valhalla, NY/Westlake), Loren Rich (Northampton, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), Rashidah Sherman (Pelham Manor, NY/Pelham Memorial) and Stephanie Tanzi (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) have played an integral role for FDU will play their final game at University Stadium on Sunday.

FDU is 4-11-1 on the season with a 1-8 mark in Northeast Conference play.  They will look to end the season on a high note with a win at home.

The Hawks are 10-7 on the year with a 6-3 record in conference play.  Monmouth fell to third place after a Friday night loss to Sacred Heart but has secured a playoff spot for the 2011 Northeast Conference Tournament. 

Monmouth's offense is led by a trio of point scorers.  Dana Costello leads the team with 17 points on five goals and seven assists.  Costello leads the NEC in assists.  Monique Piescia and Courtney Snyder have each added six goals for the Hawks with four other players contributing at least two goals this season.

In the backfield, Jocelyn McCoy has led the Knights in goal. McCoy has allowed 11 goals and made 55 saves en route to a five-shutout season. 

The 12'oclock kickoff will conclude the Knights' season.
