Women's Soccer Falls at Saint Peter's, 2-0

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team was defeated Friday afternoon at Saint Peter's, 2-0, Friday afternoon in Jersey City.  The home team scored a goal in each half to earn the victory.  With the victory, the Peahens improve to 2-6-0 on the season, while the Knights fall to 0-8-0 overall.

Saint Peter's wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Jamie Lisantie scored an unassisted goal two minutes in to put the home team up, 1-0.  Both teams played a scoreless first half the rest of the way.

In the second half, the Peahens nursed their lead for the first 31 minutes until Lisanti found Emily Fenice, who proceeded to find the back of the net to increase the lead to the final score of 2-0.

Despite being out-shot, 14-12, the Knights put up a season-high in shots.  Six shots were on goal.  Junior Amy Flanagan (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) was able to put two shots on goal, while four other Knights place one shot on goal apiece.

Freshman Sage DoVale (Lilburn, Ga./Collins Hill), making her second career collegiate start in goal, made seven saves for the Knights.  Caitlin Hoffer turned away six shots.

The Knights return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 28, as they open up Northeast Conference play at home versus Sacred Heart.  Kick-off at University Field is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Teaneck.
