Men's Basketball Continues Road Swing at Rutgers on Tuesday Night

The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team (3-5) will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak as they continue its four-game non-conference road trip by taking on Garden State rival Rutgers on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the RAC in Piscataway, NJ. 

 

FDU is coming off an 87-66 loss at Iona this past Saturday.  Junior Nate Gibbs (Dallas, TX/DeSoto) led the Knights with a career-high 13 points and seven rebounds

Rutgers (6-2) comes into the game riding a three-game win streak.  Last time out, the Scarlet Knights defeated Auburn, 63-54, in the SEC/Big East Invitational.  The game was played in Pittsburgh, PA.  Rutgers is a perfect 5-0 at home this season.

After playing Rutgers, the Knights will conclude their four-game road swing by taking on another intrastate rival, Saint Peters, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, in Jersey City, NJ.

The Series Versus Rutgers: The Knights and the Scarlet Knights will be meeting for the 10th time.  Rutgers holds an 8-1 advantage in the series and has won four-straight.  The last time the two teams met was on Dec. 22, 2004.  Rutgers handled FDU that night, 88-57.  The lone Knights' victory came on Dec. 1, 1993, 56-53.  The only game not played at Rutgers took place in Raleigh, NC on Nov. 16, 2001 in the BCA Invitational.  The Scarlet Knights escaped with a 70-66 overtime victory.

The game will be broadcast over the radio on WOR 710 AM, New York and on WCTC 1450 AM, New Brunswick.
