The Fairleigh Dickinson women's soccer team was defeated Friday afternoon, 3-0, by NEC-foe Bryant in Smithfield, Rhode Island.  With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 3-7-0 on the season, while the Knights fall to 0-10-0 (0-2 NEC) overall.
 
Bryant broke a scoreless tie in the first half when Krista Johnstone's shot slipped under the hands of Knights' goalkeeper Stephanie Tanzi (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) to give the home team a 1-0 advantage during the 36th minute.  
Nine minutes later, Johnstone found the top left corner of the net to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Bryant scored its third and final of the game in the 89th minute as Kaitlyn Fare scored on a free kick to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 victory.
The Knights had their chances to breakthrough on the scoreboard.  After only attempting two shots in the first half, the Knights were able to fire seven shots in the second half.  Out of its nine shot, Fairleigh Dickinson had a season-high eight shots on goal.  Junior Rashidah Sherman (Pelham Manor, NY/Pelham Memorial), senior Lisa-Marie Curti (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux) and senior Katie Hilder (Caringbah, Sydney, Australia/Woolooware) each had two shots on goal apiece.  Bryant keeper Lauren Viverito made all eight saves against the Knights.
Bryant finished the game with 15 shots.  Tanzi made three saves for the Knights.  
The Knights return to action next Friday, Oct. 8, as they host Wagner in an NEC matchup at University Field in Teaneck.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
