The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Quinnipiac University Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19. The women's team placed ninth in an 11-team field, while the men's team finished 11th.
Megan Patterson (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro) led the Knights on the women's side, placing 13th with a time of 19:14.6. Lena Kraus (Darmstadt, germany/Georg-Bueschner-Scholey) ran in 20:01.8 to finish 35th. Christine Taylor (Bronx, NY/Washington Irivng) ran the course in 22:03.8 for 59th place. Tara Kinnaugh ran in a time of 22:57.5. Lordess Shabazz (Pleasantville, NJ/Pleasantville) crossed the finish line in 24:01.Alyssa Adler (Fort Lee, NJ/Fort Lee) ran in a time of 24:11.9, while Claudine Williams (Bronx, NY/JFK Catholic) finished in 25:24.2.
On the men's side, Robert Cherkis (East Northport, NY/St. Anthony's) led the Knights, finishing 34th with a time of 27:20.7. Kimutai Bett (Litein, Kenya/Chebisaas Boys) ran the course in 28:05, to finish in 51st place. Jonathan Chelimo (Kabarnet, Kenya/Western) placed 58th, clocking in at 28:46. Nico Stable finished teh race in 30:05.8 and Joseph Quiroz (North Arlington, NJ/Queen of Peace) ran 32:06 for 73rd.
