The Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 5K Metropolitan Championships, held in Bronx, NY on Friday, October 9.
On the women's side, Lena Kraus (Darmstadt, germany/Georg-Bueschner-Scholey) led the Knights, placing 39th with a time of 19:40, a personal-best for Kraus on that course. Christine Taylor (Bronx, NY/Washington Irivng) ran the course in 22:13, placing 109th.
On the men's side, the Knights placed 11th in the 13-team field, led by Robert Cherkis (East Northport, NY/St. Anthony's)' time of 28:16, his second-best time this year, to place 62nd.
Ahmed Amorouch (Ruesselsheim, Germany/Max-Planck-Gymnasium) finished in 28:30 in his first meet of the season and Kimutai Bett (Litein, Kenya/Chebisaas Boys) placed 76th, running the course in 28:50. Jonathan Chelimo (Kabarnet, Kenya/Western) ran a season-best of 29:01 for 83rd place.
The Knights are back in action at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m.
