Baseball Drops 7-0 Decision at Seton Hall

The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team was shut out by home-standing Seton Hall University, 7-0, Wednesday, April 23 in South Orange, NJ.

 

Freshman right-hander Zachary Kisling got the starting nod and hurled a 1-2-3 inning.  Classmate Brian Dillon (Sarasota, FL/Cardinal Mooney), a lefty, made his first collegiate appearance, but took the loss.  Fairleigh Dickinson used six pitchers on the afternoon.

 

The Pirates improved to 26-15 overall, while FDU fell to 9-27.  SHU junior outfielder Greg Miller paced the Big East squad with three hits and two RBI, while junior outfielder Matt Smedberg added two hits and two RBI.

 

Junior infielder Zachary Sand (San Diego, CA/Mission Bay), junior outfielder Matt Maher (Peekskill, NY/JFK Catholic), junior catcher Vincent Pennacchio (Huntington Station, NY/Commack), and freshman outfielder Bryan Dorsey (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) all tallied hits.  Meanwhile, Seton Hall registered three runs over the first three innings.

 

The Knights host Sacred Heart University in a weekend, Northeast Conference four-game set.  First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 25.
