The Knights' first three runs came in the first inning as Ali Keltos (Shelton, CT/Lauralton Hall) lined a single to center. In the top of the sixth inning the Knights added a run as Maria Finnegan (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) doubled down the left field line scoring Coughlan.

“In the first game, we were in the game, 4-2, until we gave up six runs in the fifth inning,” said Head Coach Dale Martin. “In both games we jumped out to an early lead and that's a big positive. We hit the ball relatively well, but we need to be able to step up when the game is on the line and make big plays and that is going to be the difference. We need to be able to close the door instead of giving the other team opportunities.”
