Women's Soccer Loses 2-0 at Syracuse

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team (0-3) allowed two second-half goals in a 2-0 setback to home-standing Syracuse University, Friday, Sept. 7.

 

The Orange (2-1) capitalized on a corner kick in the 68th minute, with sophomore midfielder Chelsea Berry (Lowville, NY) notching the game-winning tally.  Senior midfielder Jen Taormina (Liverpool, NY) added an insurance goal in the 71st minute.

 

Junior goalkeeper Rachel Derrico (/Canon McMillan) (Canonsburg, PA) recorded four saves in the initial 45 minutes.  Sophomore Megan MacKellar (/Brookwood) (Lilburn, GA) made six saves in the second stanza.

 

The Knights make their 2007 home debut at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9 versus Columbia University.
