The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team concluded the season with an 8-2 loss at Mount St. Mary's University, Saturday, May 19 in Emmitsburg, MD. Freshmen designated hitter Patrick Furey (Ponoma, NY/North Rockland) (Pomona, NY) and infielder Michael Zettl (Whiteplains, NY/Archbishop Stepinac) (Whiteplains, NY) paced the Knights' (9-45 overall, 4-23 Northeast Conference) offense, notching multi-hit efforts.

The Mount (35-20 overall, 21-7 NEC) took a 3-0 advantage through the first two frames, including plating a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first inning.

Furey went yard in the top of the third ? marking his first collegiate dinger ? depositing a pitch over the right field wall, as FDU cut the deficit to 3-1.

The Mountaineers tacked on four additional runs, before senior infielder Jovan Santos (Woodhaven, NY/Archbishop Malloy) (Woodhaven, NY) worked a one-out walk in the eighth inning and later scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of sophomore catcher Vincent Pennacchio (Huntington Station, NY/Commack) (Huntington Station, NY).
