Baseball Falls at Manhattan on Wednesday, 9-0

The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team lost, 9-0, against home-standing Manhattan College, Wednesday, April 18 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Riverdale, NY. The Knights fell to 7-24 overall, while the Jaspers moved to 20-11.

 

Sophomore right-hander Nick Blanco (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond's) (Bronx, NY) took the loss, allowing a solo homer in the second frame ? the lone run in three innings of work. Freshman lefty Terry Lydecker (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) (Pompton Lakes, NJ) yielded five runs ? two earned ? in 1.2 innings of relief.

 

Junior designated hitter John Paganotti (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph By The Sea) (Staten Island, NY) registered the squad's lone hit on the afternoon, a base knock in the top of the first inning.

 

The Jasper's starter, Zac Goyer, tossed 5.1 innings to grab the win. The freshman righty failed to surrender a hit against 16-straight batters at one point. Jeremy Shaw added 2.2 innings of hitless ball.

 

The Knights host Monmouth University at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 20 at FDU Field in Teaneck, NJ. The contest marks the first of four Northeast Conference contests versus the intrastate rival Hawks.
