Baseball Drops Series Finale Against Albany, 12-5

The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team lost to the University at Albany, 12-5, Sunday, April 1 in Teaneck, NJ. Sophomore outfielder Matt Maher (Peekskill, NY/JFK Catholic) (Peekskill, NY/JFK Catholic) tallied two hits and three RBI as the Knights slid to 5-15 overall.

The Great Danes (10-10) swept the four-game weekend set on the strength of six runs in the second frame, plating eight runs before making six outs. Right-hander Chris Ott (Massapequa, NY) picked up the win, tossing 3.2 innings, fanning four.

 

Maher notched RBIs in three different innings, while senior outfielder Vincente-Alexander Medina (North Bergen, NJ/Paramus Catholic) (North Bergen, NJ/Paramus Catholic) reached base on three occasions and recorded a multi-hit afternoon.

 

Sophomore right-hander Nick Blanco (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond's) (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond's) took the loss, yielding five runs in 1.2 innings of work. Freshman lefty Anthony Champion (Egg Harbor City, NJ/Absegami) Jr. (Egg Harbor City, NJ/Absegami) didn't allow an earned run in two innings of relief.

 

The Knights host St. Peter's College at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3.
