Baseball Beaten at Duke, 15-4

The Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball team lost, 15-4, at Duke University, Tuesday, March 13 in Durham, NC. Senior outfielder Chris Grabowski (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) (Brooklyn, NY) tallied two doubles to pace the Knights (4-4), while fellow classmate Vincente-Alexander Medina (North Bergen, NJ/Paramus Catholic) (North Bergen, NJ) collected an RBI via sacrifice fly in the fourth frame.

 

Sophomore outfielder Matt Maher (Peekskill, NY/JFK Catholic) (Peekskill, NY) also collected multiple hits and drove in two runs.

 

The Blue Devils (16-4) scored multiple runs in the game's initial three innings, headlined by a six-run third. Third baseman Brett Bartles notched six RBI on the afternoon.

 

Freshman right-hander Stephen Brush (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) (Hillsborough, NJ) took the loss in his first collegiate start, allowing three runs off three hits. Freshman lefty Anthony Champion (Egg Harbor City, NJ/Absegami) Jr. (Egg Harbor City, NJ) worked a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the fourth.

 

Sophomore right-hander Ben Green (Plainview, NY/JFK Plainview) (Plainview, NY) hurled a hitless seventh and eighth, fanning four.

 

FDU faces the Blue Devils at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14.
