Women's Soccer Loses at Rutgers, 3-0

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team (1-4) lost to home-standing Rutgers University, 3-0, in Piscataway, NJ Sunday, Sept. 10.

In her first start of the season, sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Derrico (/Canon McMillan) (Canonsburg, PA) recorded eight saves, as the Scarlet Knights (4-1) fired 26 shots at the net-minder.

"I saw some good things today against a quality opponent," Head Coach Renee Montana said. "We keep improving and that's very important."

Forward Alicia Hall tallied the game-winner in the 21st minute ? her first of two on the afternoon ? as Rutgers scored three goals in the first half.

Junior midfielder Michelle DeCourcey (/Fredericton) (Fredericton, New Brunswick) registered three shots.

The Knights travel to Vestal, NY to face Binghamton at 4:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15.
