Women?s Soccer Falls to St. John?s, 3-0

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team lost to St. John's University, 3-0, Friday, Aug. 25 at University Field in the squad's regular-season opener. Red Storm forward Natasha Lee (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia) scored the game-winner 46 seconds after the opening tap, tallying the first of two goals on the afternoon.

 

Knights' senior goalkeeper Kyla Clark (/Notre Dame/Univ. of Texas - El Paso) (Ottawa, Ontario, Notre Dame/Univ. of Texas ? El Paso) recorded six saves. Nine Knights played all 90 minutes, including three freshmen.

 

Lee netted her second goal in the 75th minute and SJU notched its third goal in the 88th minute.

 

“We didn't give our best effort today ? we are a better team than we showed,” Head Coach Renee Montana said. “The team needs to get healthy and we have to pick things up. Now we'll turn our focus to Villanova.”

 

FDU meets the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27 in Villanova, PA.
