Women's Soccer Falls to Rutgers, 2-0

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team fell, 2-0, against Rutgers at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, NJ on Sunday evening. The Knights fall to 1-1 overall while the Scarlet Knights improve to 2-0.

Rutgers' freshman Kristen Edmonds (Metuchen, NJ) gave the Scarlet Knights an early 1-0 lead, scoring her first goal of the game in the seventh minute. Edmonds beat her defender on the left side, cutting through the box and finding the back of the net.

As time was winding down in the first half, freshman Jessica Bendzlowicz (Holland, PA) intercepted the ball in the midfield found Edmonds, in the middle of box, to push the Scarlet Knights ahead 2-0 with 9.9 seconds on the clock.

RU redshirt junior Nora Crawford (McLean, VA) made one save for her second consecutive shutout (2-0). Junior transfer Kyla Clark (Ottawa, Ontario) made six saves between the posts for the Knights.

The Knights are back in action at Georgetown on Sept. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
