Box Score

LORETTO, PA - The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team (5-7-1, 1-2-1 NEC) battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie at St. Francis PA (9-5-2, 3-1-1 NEC) on Friday afternoon in Loretto, PA.

Marguerite Ferrell opened scoring and put the Knights on the board in the 23rd minute when she blasted a right-footed bender from the left side, 18 yards out into the right corner of the net. Ana Moniz was credited with the assist.

Viviane Villar tied up the game when she rebounded Kirsten Hoffsmith's shot and sent it in for the equalizer.

Kyla Clark made five saves between the posts for the Knights, who were tied in shots with the Red Flash 14-14. St. Francis held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.

"We played a great first half," said Head Coach Peter Gaglioti. "We worked really hard and played well defensively for the first 45 minutes, but the other team just worked harder in the second half. Marguerite had a great goal to put us on the board, but we need to play with more intensity for the whole game."

The Knights are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 16 when they play at Robert Morris at 1:00 p.m. in Moon Township, PA.
