Sophomore Jordan Ritz put together a fantastic week as the Knights went 3-2 with a victory over Siena and a split in their four-game series at Mount St. Mary's.
Ritz hit .421 over the five-game sample, going 8-for-19 with two runs, three doubles, one triple, six RBI, one sacrifice fly and three stolen bases while slugging .684 and reaching base at a .400 clip. He also did not strike out in 20 plate appearances
The Knights' starting left fielder drove in FDU's only run in a 1-0 victory over Siena, the top team from the MAAC, as his eighth inning RBI sacrifice fly was the difference and also snapped the Saints' nine-game win streak
Ritz also picked up an RBI single and later scored a run in the Knights' six-run second inning in game three of its series with Mount. In the contest, he collected two hits and stole two bases.
In the series finale with the Mount, Ritz put together a career afternoon in the come-from-behind victory after he went 4-for-5 with four extra base hits, including three doubles and a triple, one run, a career-high four RBI and a big stolen base.
Trailing 5-0 in the final game, his two-run double in the top of the fifth cut the deficit to 5-2. He then trimmed the lead to 5-3 after doubling with one out, stealing third and coming home on an RBI single.
With two outs in the top of the eighth and FDU trailing 5-4, Ritz came through with his fourth extra-base hit of the day, a two-run triple down the right-field line to give the Knights their first lead of the day.
