Andrea Nolan-Boyd

Andrea Nolan-Boyd was officially named head women's volleyball coach on November 13, 2017 after spending one season as the team's interim coach.

The 2017 season marked Nolan-Boyd's fourth season at FDU and her first as interim head coach of the women's volleyball program. In her first season, Nolan-Boyd improved the team's win total by two and began the development of a young roster, which prominently featured four freshmen in its lineup.

Nolan-Boyd played collegiately at both Southern Connecticut State and LIU Post. She graduated from the latter in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. The Ridgefield, N.J. native also attended Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township, where she played for her mom, Maria Nolan, who is considered the most successful high school volleyball coach in the Garden State.

Nolan-Boyd has also coached with the Digs Volleyball Club, which is based out of New Milford. She oversaw two 14U teams and led the Blues to Garden Empire Volleyball Association title.

During her senior season at LIU Post, Nolan-Boyd was awarded with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches for Coaches Scholarship and was able to attend the 2011 AVCA Convention, where she learned techniques and skills to become a better coach while gaining knowledge from some of the best volleyball coaches around the country.
