The 2013-14 campaign marks Ben Freer's third season as an assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis program at Fairleigh Dickinson after joining the staff in August of 2011.

The Fort Thomas, Ky. native played four years of tennis at Valparaiso in Indiana. Freer was a cornerstone of the Crusaders’ lineup, earning First Team All-Mid-Continent Conference during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Freer served as team captain and was named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week three times.

Freer graduated from Valparaiso in 2005 with a degree in psychology and earned his doctorate in experimental psychology from Kentucky in 2011.

During his time at UK, he worked as Assistant Coach of the boy’s tennis team at Henry Clay High School from 2006 through 2011. Over that period, the Lexington, Ky. high school was a three-time state runner-up.   

In addition to his coaching duties, Freer has worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology at FDU since August of 2011.

Freer currently resides in Edgewater, N.J.
