Rebimbas was the men's basketball coach at William Patterson for 20 seasons and compiled a 399-176 (.694) record with six New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. Off the court, Rebimbas served on various search committees in the athletic department and served as a National Association of Basketball Coaches Congress member and served as a NCAA Tournament representative.

Also at William Patterson, Rebimbas was a three-time NJAC Coach of the Year, three time NABC Regional Coach of the Year and a four-time Metropolitan Basketball Writes Association Coach of the Year. 

Rebimbas was an assistant coach at Montclair State for three seasons prior to spending one season at the helm in 1994-95. 

As a player at Seton Hall, Rebimbas was a member of the Seton Hall team that reached two NCAA Tournaments, including an appearance in the National Championship game against Michigan in 1989.
