2020-21: Has opted out of the 2020-21 season.

2019-20: Started all 26 games he played in and averaged 12.3 points per contest...Malone-Key netted a career-high 29 points on 8-12 shooting and 11-13 from the free throw line to propel the Knights to a victory over Quinnipiac on December 3...Netted double-digit points in 18 contests and also scored over 20 points against Central Connecticut State and Mount St. Mary's...Shot 48.1% from the floor and knocked down 29 three-pointers...Grabbed a season 6 rebounds against Central Connecticut State on January 20...Ranked second on the team with 61 made free throws. 

2018-19: Averaged 11.4 points and 31 minutes per game in his first season with the Knights. Started all 29 games in which he appeared..Grabbed 3.9 rebounds per contest with 1.9 assists per game on 44.7 percent from the field..Scored season-high 24 points at Wagner on January 12.

2017-18: Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Rider University 2016-17 (freshman): Appeared in 23 games for the Broncs during his first season in Lawrenceville, totaling 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Plymouth Whitemarsh: Scored 1,173 career points including 600 points during his senior season at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Named team MVP as a senior, Malone-Key garnered Second Team All-State, First Team All-Area and First Team All-League honors, while also earning academic honor roll.

Herenda on Malone-Key (Prior to 2017-18 season): "We are very excited about Xzavier joining our program here at Fairleigh Dickinson. "X" is ultra-athletic, long, and can play on both sides of the floor."
