Joymarie Swanson begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Knights after joining the staff in September of 2004. Swanson is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, specializing in post development.
Swanson has national recruiting experience and is in her eighth year of Division I coaching. Prior to Fairleigh Dickinson, Swanson served as Assistant Coach at Army for three years. While at Army, she assisted in practice strategies and game plans, monitored the physical and academic progress of cadets and scouted opponents. She was responsible for recruitment of Mid-West players and the inital recruitment of high school juniors.
Before Army, she was the Assistant Coach at St. Bonaventure University for three years, where she was responsible for assisting with the individual development of the team's post players. She organized on-campus vists of high school athletes, team travel arrangements and coordinated film exchange.
Swanson earned her bachelor of arts in psychology from St. Bonaventure and her M.S.E.D. in community counseling two years later. While at St. Bonaventure, Swanson played for Coach Gordon. Swanson resides in West Point, NY, with her husband Scott and their son, Thor. Her father, Tedd, is a high school coach in Cleveland, OH.
