Biography

2012: Saw action in six contests, including three starts at shortstop, before an injury ended his sesaon... Hit .267 in 15 at-bats and did not make an error in the field in 10 chances... Collected two hits in his first career game, while making the start, in a 7-3 loss at Davidson (2/26)... Picked up a single in his second career start, a 6-3 loss to NYIT (3/6)... In his final start at NCAA College World Series participant Stony Brook (4/4), he singled in his only at-bat before leaving the game with an injury in the 9-0 loss...

Pius X: Earned four letters, while playing two different positions… Was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the 41st round after a senior season in which he hit .530 with 32 RBI’s and 26 runs scored... Was named A/AA All-State as a shortstop as a senior…  Also hit .430 as a freshman… Also earned two letters playing both the point and shooting guard positions over his final two years… Member of the National Honor Society…
 
Personal: Played for the Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy… Born Oct. 23, 1992… Son of Jeff and Alicia Bittiger… His father pitched professionally for 20 years, including four years in MLB, and was a member of the Minnesota Twins’ 1987 World Championship team… English Language and Literature major.
