BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Both FDU Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams took part in the LIU Fall Festival, that served as a preview for the NEC Conference Championships, which will take place on Halloween.
The Knights used the morning to pace themselves and familiarize themselves with the course, and some fellow local NEC teams. The Knights raced against Wagner, CCSU, and LIU in both Men's and Women's competition, where the Men's team placed fourth out of five, and the women's team placing fourth out of four competing teams.
In the Women's race, the Knights were led by Temi Adebayo, who took 22nd place with a time of 26:11.52 in the 6k race. Right behind her were her teammates
Kayla Smith and
Aisha Williams, who took 24th and 26th place respectively.
Tanari Wyatt rounded out the top 30 of the race, placing 29th, getting over the finish line in just over 30 minutes.
When it was the Men's teams' turn, FDU ran in a pack, all pacing each other and getting a feel of the course in this trial run style of meet. Four Knights crossed the finish line one after another, with
Kidus Zeleke,
Dylan Manning,
Trevor Ehrlicher, and
Jalen Goode all crossing the finish with each other.
Liam Schwabik was only a few seconds behind, finishing in 24th place of the race.
FDU will next compete at the biggest Cross Country event on the East Coast, as the Knights will head to the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
