Sencion Shines in Weekend Series at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – FDU softball completed an NEC series against Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon. The Knights took just one of three on the road against the Dolphins.

GAME ONE

FDU sent sophomore starter Jamie Sencion out to the circle to kick off the weekend. Sencion was excellent in the Friday match-up against Le Moyne, generating whiffs left and right. The sophomore struck out ten Dolphins in a complete-game effort, allowing just three hits in the process. FDU held an early 2-0 lead in the game after a third-inning rally. Le Moyne responded in the third and fourth innings, hitting two home runs off Sencion to take a 3-2 lead. Those home runs accounted for two of the three hits Sencion allowed in the game. FDU went into the seventh inning trailing, and were down to their final two outs. That's when Zoe Milonopoulos came through. The sophomore shortstop sent an RBI single up the middle, tying the game at three. The Knights passed the baton to Brianna Holguin, who also sent a single up the middle to give FDU a 4-3 lead. Sencion shut the door on Le Moyne in the bottom half of the seventh, giving FDU their first NEC win of 2026.

GAME TWO

FDU was unable to keep the momentum rolling into game two of the series. After falling behind 3-1, FDU gave up a five-run fifth inning to Le Moyne, allowing them to break the game open. FDU rallied in the sixth to score a pair of runs, but were unable to prevent the run-rule from coming into effect. The Dolphins emerged victorious in six innings by a score of 11-3.

GAME THREE

The Knights sent Sencion back out in the circle in game three of the weekend series. Sencion again kept Le Moyne relatively quiet, allowing just two runs on three hits across six innings of work. The only bits of damage against Sencion were an RBI double and sac fly during a third-inning rally by Le Moyne. On the offensive end, FDU just could not get anything going against Le Moyne starter Isabella Kwashek. Kwashek pitched a complete game, allowing just four hits and one run. The one run for FDU came on a two-out RBI single from Ayden Stone during a sixth-inning rally. Stone sent a ball through the right side with the bases loaded, scoring Hannah Alonso. Dimitra Milonopoulos was gunned down trying to score the tying-run, ending the inning. In the seventh, Amanda Jupinka led off with an RBI double, putting the tying run in scoring position. The Knights were unable to get Jupinka home, as Kwashek retired the next three Knights to give Le Moyne a 2-1 victory.
