HACKENSACK, N.J. – FDU women's basketball (25-4, 16-0) defeated Le Moyne (10-19, 8-8) by a score of 66-38 on Thursday night. FDU has now won 35 straight regular season games against NEC opponents, setting a new conference record. With the win, the Knights also clinched sole possession of the 2025-26 NEC Regular Season Championship for the second straight season.

THE STORY

The defense was clicking early for the Knights on Thursday night. FDU held Le Moyne to just one made field goal across the first six and a half minutes of regulation. In that same span, FDU took a 12-3 lead with the help of some sharp-shooting. Kailee McDonald and Madlena Gerke each hit threes to help kickstart the Knights offense. As the first quarter drew to a close, the Dolphins started to find the offense, tightening the FDU lead to just 15-10.

Le Moyne would continue applying pressure to FDU as the second quarter came around. The Knights were held to just one point, a Rebecca Osei-Owusu free throw, across the first five minutes of the quarter. With the Knights leading just 16-14, Madlena Gerke came to the rescue. Gerke scored eight points across the final five minutes of the first half, helping the Knights finish on a 12-3 run and build a double-digit lead heading into halftime.

Out of the halftime break, the defense continued for the Knights. FDU held Le Moyne to just eight points across the third quarter. The Knights proceeded to explode on offense in the fourth quarter, scoring 23 points as a team to put away the Dolphins and walk away with the historic victory in Hackensack.
