First Year Knights Shine Bright in Opening Tournament

Annapolis, Md.- FDU competed in the third and final day of the Navy Invitational, which featured a pair of singles wins for the Knights. Sophia Fredericks-McKee continued her strong first weekend as a Knight with her third victory. Fellow first year Oleksandra Ovsiienko finished a perfect 4-0 in her weekend singles slate. Seniors Anastasia Lim and Yelena Kim were a dangerous tandem at the tournament, going 3-1 in doubles play.

"It was a good start to the season," said head coach Alex Cole. "Great to see the team compete again and to welcome the freshmen to college tennis with some wins. Always good to have several people still competing on finals day."
